MCA Saudi Arabia: Laravel Backend Architecture, RESTful APIs & Flutter Mobile App

Context of business activity and nature of the project

An integrated cloud software system developed to serve a regional platform for fast services, hotel reservations and trips, requires a centralized Backend Architecture that manages real-time operations and feeds smart phone applications (iOS & Android built on Flutter) and administrative dashboards.

The Core Challenge

This architecture required highly accurate and durable software specifications:

• Carrying thousands of concurrent orders (High Concurrency): The server must respond to API requests in a time not exceeding 100 milliseconds under heavy usage loads.
• Authentication Security and Endpoints Protection: Encrypt sensitive data and secure access sessions via tokens with protection against DDoS attacks and data manipulation.
• Background Job Queues: Send push notifications, SMS messages, generate invoices and process payments without disabling the user or delaying the API response.

Technical and engineering solution implemented from MTM4WEB

Software engineers at MTM4WEB designed and built the system according to Clean Architecture standards:

• Advanced RESTful API architecture with Laravel 11: With extensive software documentation via Swagger / Postman to facilitate ongoing integration with the Flutter Apps team.
• Laravel Sanctum Secure Authentication System: With multi-level privilege management (RBAC) and advanced rate limiting to protect servers.
• Cloud task queues using Redis: Efficiently process notifications, email, and background calculations via Redis Queues.
• MySQL database with Optimized Indexing: Optimizing complex database queries and preventing N+1 queries, reducing memory and processor consumption by 60%.

Impact and results

The system demonstrated absolute stability with a 99.99% operating rate without any downtime, and an amazing response speed on smartphone applications that was well received by users, which enabled the platform to expand and grow smoothly without any technical obstacles.
